Claire is a criminal defence and employment lawyer in Brisbane working in large-scale fraud, domestic violence and sexual assault matters, health law and all aspects of employment law.
Claire joined Gilshenan & Luton in 2015. She assists clients facing criminal charges, regulatory investigations or disciplinary proceedings.
She has particular experience acting for health practitioners, including doctors, nurses and pharmacists, advising and representing them in matters involving the Office of the Health Ombudsman, National Boards, disciplinary proceedings and coronial inquests.
Claire also acts in white collar crime and fraud matters and is experienced in managing complex cases involving large volumes of material and serious consequences for professionals, employees and business owners. She regularly appears as solicitor advocate and instructing solicitor in superior court hearings, coronial inquests, disciplinary hearings and commissions of inquiry.
In 2022 Claire gained Specialist Accreditation in Criminal Law, and in 2025 she received the Queensland Law Society Emerging Leader Award. She is a member of the QLS Health and Disability Committee, the Medico-Legal Society, and the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland.
