Representation for health professionals

Protecting the registration, careers and reputations of health practitioners.

As a registered health practitioner, even being charged with a criminal offence usually requires you to notify the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) within seven days. Failing to do so may itself expose you to disciplinary action.

We act for practitioners in disciplinary investigations and proceedings, including responding to immediate action proposed by the Office of the Health Ombudsman (OHO), such as conditions on or suspension of your registration.

Our experience on both sides of disciplinary proceedings for health professionals puts us in a unique position to offer real insight into the process. Practitioners may also face disciplinary investigations through their employment, for example by a Hospital and Health Service, and we regularly help clients respond to show cause notices.

Just been charged or notified?

Notification timeframes are short. Call 07 3361 0222 for urgent advice, 24 hours a day.

Coronial matters for practitioners

Inquests often arise where families are concerned about the circumstances of a death in care. You may be asked to provide a coronial statement and to give evidence. Because a coroner may criticise a practitioner or refer them for disciplinary or criminal consideration, it is vital to obtain advice before any statement or appearance.
